What Can IT Do for Your Growing Pain Practice?

My IT [information technology] manager has submitted several proposals for purchasing new software and hardware to supplement our current systems. All of our systems are working now, so I can’t help but think most of these updates are unnecessary. Should I approve these purchases? Is it normal for a company to have large dollar technology purchases even when there is nothing wrong?
